Somewhere South Terms & Conditions

We want you to know exactly how Somewhere South works before you join. These Terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask in return, so everyone feels clear and comfortable from the start. By applying for and joining our Core Membership, you’re agreeing to the following.

What Somewhere South Is

Somewhere South is a real-life social club for women in the South West. We bring people together through walks, workshops, theatre nights, brunches, and other carefully chosen experiences.

At its heart, SoSo is about friendship and connection. It’s a place to meet new people, try new things, and feel part of a supportive community. It is not a space for business promotion or selling.

Core Membership

Our first wave of membership is called our Core Membership. This will be an application-based membership. We’re building a community that feels welcoming, safe and aligned with our values, so we ask everyone to apply rather than offering instant sign-up.

Core Members will have priority booking for events and gatherings various core member socials throughout the year and a variety of other member Perks.

Please note that tickets for individual events will paid for separately however some events will be discounted for Core members.

How We Expect Everyone to Show Up

Kindness first, always. Somewhere South is built on respect, warmth and inclusivity. We don’t tolerate unkindness, bullying or disruptive behaviour. If behaviour is harmful or inappropriate, we may remove someone from the membership. If you are a non-member we will block you for joining any further events. 

We can’t control every interaction, but we will do everything we can to set the tone and keep this community safe and positive.

Events & Tickets

• Every event is individually priced. Membership does not include event tickets.

• Tickets are non-refundable once booked. This is because numbers are limited and each space is reserved for you.

• If you can’t make it, let us know as early as possible. We’ll do our best to help find someone else to take your spot, but we can’t promise this will always be possible.

• Retreats and trips may have their own booking conditions from our partner venues but you’ll see these before confirming.

Some events involve walking or other physical activities. You are responsible for making sure you feel able to take part. 

Refunds & Cancellations

• Membership fees (if and when applicable) are non-refundable once you’ve joined.

• Event tickets are non-refundable, but we’ll always try to help you reallocate if we can.

• If we have to cancel or postpone an event, you’ll be offered a transfer or refund.

Privacy & Respect

• We take your privacy seriously. Your details are handled in line with our privacy policy.

• What’s shared in the group stays in the group. Please respect the confidentiality of other members.

• We often take photos or short videos at events to capture the moment and share our story. By attending, you’re giving us permission to use this content unless you’ve told us otherwise in advance.

Health & Wellbeing

We want everyone to enjoy themselves, but please remember:

• We can’t give medical or professional advice.

• You’re responsible for your own health, fitness and safety at events.

• If in doubt, check with a professional before joining any activity that may affect your health.

The Boring but Important Bit

• These Terms are the full agreement between you and Somewhere South.

• We may update them from time to time and will let members know if anything changes.

• These Terms are governed by English law and any disputes will be handled in the English courts.
