You know that feeling when you want to try something new, but you don't have anyone to do it with?
That's exactly why Somewhere South exists. We're a real-life social club for women across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and South Cotswolds, built for the walks, workshops, brunches and nights out you've always wanted to do, minus the awkward part where you need someone to do them with.
No memberships. No cliques. Just women showing up as they are and meeting other women who feel exactly the same.
Over one of our many cups of tea and tears we were chatting about how difficult it is to make friends. How we wanted to do workshops and random activities but a) didn't have anyone to do them with and b) dates always never seemed to align. We also realised we were both craving the same thing....more connection, more laughter, and more moments that felt like ours.
So....Somewhere South was born from that simple idea: if we wanted more real-life connection, surely others did too, so let's make it happen.
So, what is Somewhere South?
It’s a social club for women across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Bristol. A place to meet people who just get it, without awkwardness or pressure. We are planning walks, brunches, cinema & theatre trips, workshops, sports intros....the kind of things you’d love to do with a friend, even if you don’t have one handy right now.
Why? Because life feels better when you’ve got people to share it with. We believe in connection without competition, community without cliques, and fun without the faff. We're all about supporting and championing our friends!
Why should you join SoSo?
You could book an event directly which would probably be a bit cheaper but 9 times out of 10 the other people attending are there with their friends and they are there to do the thing, not necessarily make new friends. We are curating a schedule of beautiful events with incredible small business which we have found and want to shout about. Our groups are small and intentional, and everyone there will be there to meet new people, make new connections whilst also doing the thing. So, yes, it might be slightly more expensive, but we can guarantee it will be absolutely worth it.
Where are we going?
Our dream is that Somewhere South becomes the go-to social club for women in the South West to find their people, try new things, and feel right at home.
And what's even better is we’re not the only ones doing this and that’s the beauty of it. Across the country, women are creating new ways to connect and find their people. We’ve taken inspiration from that energy, and we’re adding our own SoSo spin rooted here in the South West, with events and experiences that feel fun, stylish and truly us.
